Dear President Bush,

I want to congratulate you on the manner you handled such a terrible terrorist attack as this. I am very proud to call you my president. Your calm & compassionate way of handling things have truly stirred emotions in the hearts of many Americans. As a citizen I would like to say that we stand behind you all the way. Together, we will make it through this ordeal. Together, we will show that no one can take away our American pride. I was moved to tears when I stepped outside of my house into my street . Every house had an American flag raised. I live just outside of New York City. Many of my friends' parents worked in the world trade center. Some, as you know, are missing. I want to thank you for keeping our hopes up & for giving us the power to deal with this event. We always remember that we are ONE NATION UNDER GOD. Through him we will rise to our finest hour.

Yours truly,
Mary A.
