Dear President Bush,

As a teenager & an American, I am both shocked & deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Our country is now a different place, & I have now experienced what it is like to have a war zone within sight of my own home. I never thought that this type of terrorism would ever really happen in this country; now that it has, I feel that we need to do everything we can to prevent this type of tragedy from ever happening again.
In this spirit I stand behind you, President Bush, in all that you do to protect our country. However, I ask that you use both wisdom & conscience when deciding to engage in any type of retaliatory attacks. Vengeance in the name of justice is always a risky proposition. We do not need any more innocent people anywhere in the world to suffer. Enough suffering has taken place. It is time for healing, recovery, & working toward a lasting peace in our world.
May God bless you with courage, wisdom, & right judgement, & may God bless our great country that is America.

Sincerely, Ana B.
