What happened on the 11th of September is truly a great
tragedy. It touched the world. It will go down in history
as one of the world's most horrible events.
I first learned about what happened when I was on an online
diary site. I had earlier spoken to some friends from America
on the phone yet they didn't mention what had happened as
my mom thought it would be better that way. I looked through
the list of entries on a site & found one titled "mom
where are you?" I clicked on the entry & read what
had happened from a fourteen year old girls perspective.
The girls mom worked in one of the twin towers & hadn't
come home for lunch as she was supposed to. I thought to
myself what would I do if I were in her situation, how would
I manage without my mum, what would I do?
A few months later Parry came to the UK to visit, she told
us the story of the courageous dog & had us all in tears.
I think that everyone has a story to tell about what happened,
whether it is personal or whether it happened to someone
else. I think that everyone in the world will always remember
their story to go along with the tragedy because it touched
us so much. It showed us how courageous people were &
how the world really can look out for one another. Everyone
came together as a world to support & look out for one
another.
I am still deeply saddened at what went on that day, the
fact that some people could be so cruel as to do such things.
I still have memories of the horrific pictures & stories
but I think that in this past year I have grown a lot. From
the events I have learned how sacred life really is &
how important people really are to me.
