I homeschool & on September 11, 2001, we didn't have
school. I saw on the news how the planes had hit the World
Trade Center Towers. I couldn't believe that something so
large could be destroyed. I was very thankful for the brave
firefighters & policemen that handled the situation.
When I saw downtown Manhatten covered with a dark cloud
of dust, I got worried & hoped this sort of thing would
never happen again. I wanted to help in some way. Now, when
I think about the World Trade Center towers, I don't feel
so fearful. I feel safer now that the United States Armed
Forces are putting all of their efforts into stopping the
spread of terrorism. I'm glad most of the firefighters made
it out alive & I'm sorry for the families of those who
did not survive. I think it would be a good idea to put
the two large beams of light where the Towers once stood,
to bring light from the darkness. I know the terrorists
are just trying to make us scared, but the Red, White, &
Blue are colors that are never afraid.
