I would put money on that most of you reading this know when & where you were when the first plane plowed into the north tower. I remember exactly where I was. Second period, P.E. When I stepped into my third period room & saw billowing black smoke & what looked like papers flying everywhere on the TV, a hundred things crossed my mind. Did anything else get hit? Who was killed? What happens next? Where is the guy who did it, & when do we get to destroy him? But above all things, two feelings rose to the top of my consciousness: anger & shock. Who would be stupid enough to launch a terrorist attack on the largest superpower in the world? & why would they even want to in the first place? Later I found out.

Apparently, about 80% of Muslims don’t even read their Koran – the Islam holy book, & the 20% that do can hardly understand it. The Koran was not written in chronological order, so for example; if you are reading it, you come across a story about Muhammad killing off a whole town & taking the dead men’s wives for his own. Then the story abruptly changes to the story of Muhammad’s birth or coming down from heaven or whatever caused him to exist! Some other story pops up that is not related in any major way. That confuses people & confusion can be a dangerous thing. So, in essence, Bin Laden has no idea what he is talking about when he says Jihad, Holy War, because, of course, he can’t understand the Koran. Which means that he attacked us on ethics based on his own feelings! If that is not wrong in any way, go talk to a counselor, because you need help. That is wrong, & you should know it.

But, one good thing rose from the smoke & ashes of the twin towers. Patriotism & selflessness. There has never been too much blood given for a certain disaster before, & American flags were sold out for the first time in a while.

In conclusion, I am very proud to live in my country, & I hope you are too.
