What To Do With SMS Spam

by The Wired Pixie

Today when I got home from school I found that I had a message on my mobile phone saying:

"Urgent u've been chosen 2 receive a guaranteed £500 mystery award awaiting collection tel 09066368325 callcost£1.50pmorefrommobile2Bremoved-MobyPOBox734LS27YF"

I told my mum and she told me that the message I had received was SMS Spam and that I was right to show her first.

Just like e-mail Spam you should never send SMS Spam and you should never reply to it.

My mum told me I could find out more about SMS Spam at the WiredSafety Web Site.

I logged onto WiredSafety's UK pages and then the UK Law link and then I went onto SMS Spam.

First of all I went to TPS Online and I registered with them to say that I did not want to "receive unsolicited sales and marketing calls".

Then I went to ICSTIS Web Site and filled out the complaint form.

If you have any of these messages do what I did because its better to be safe than to be sorry and those messages just waste your money because when you reply to them it costs a lot.
