MSN Instant Messenger

For safety reasons, make sure that you do not have any information in your profile.

To do this,
  • Click on the arrow next to your name under "My Status".
  • Choose "personal Settings". You will see 6 tabs.
  • Choose "personal".
  • Here you can choose a nickname that others will see. Type this in the first section.
  • Make sure that your profile does not have any real information.
  • While you are on Instant Messenger under the Personal Tab, click on "Edit Profile".
  • If you have information there, it will show here.
  • If you see "create a MSN Nickname", then you do not have a profile set up. If it shows a profile, make sure that you are not giving out any personal information.
  • The next tab is "Phone". Make sure that you are not showing any personal information here at all.
  • Under "Privacy", you can customize your Instant Messenger by choosing to add people in either the "allow list" or the "block List".
  • Make sure that the "alert me when other users add me to their contact lists" is checked. This way you will receive an alert when someone adds you.
