The work Parry Aftab agreed to do, as head of the U.S. Action Committee, continues to be done through WiredSafety.org and its programs. Many of those who were appointed to assist in the UNESCO project continue to work towards those goals with WiredSafety.org. UNESCO believes that the Internet is an extraordinary learning & communication tool. It also advocates universal & equitable access, understanding that children must have access to the Internet to succeed in the future. It also recognizes that along with the wonders of the Internet, come risks. UNESCO is committed to help educators, librarians, parents & children understand & manage those risks while helping them get the most out of the Internet. This is truly a worldwide effort to create a truly World Wide Web. |
